Celebrate Martin Luther King’s Birthday Weekend with a transformative movie experience.

On Friday, January 17, 7:00 pm the UUSM De-centering Whiteness Group kicks off our celebration of MLK’s Birthday with

Selma, an award-winning documentary about this seminal event in the struggle for Civil Rights in America. The film, directed by Ava DuVernay, has a “gripping performance from David Oyelowo,” according to Rotten Tomatoes. See it free at UUSM. The evening includes discussion and popcorn. Bring friends!

The De-Centering Whiteness Group is open to everyone who identifies as White and wants to do the work of promoting racial equity in our own hearts and the wider world.
