In this holiday season, we welcome the Rev. Dr. John Buehrens to our pulpit, and once again celebrate musical gifts created by our adult and children’s choirs. Some believe Easter is about being saved from sin and death; others yearn for the coming of what Jesus called the Kingdom of God as justice and peace on earth. Yet there is another, more holistic way of understanding both the meaning of Easter and salvation. Rev. Buehrens served as the 6th President of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), from 1993 to 2001. The author or co-author of six books on liberal religion, he is now retired and living in San Francisco.
